Chicago bars that celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in September

Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day marks the halfway countdown to our favorite March/Irish/Drinking/Party and Guinness fueled shenanigans! It’s also a great opportunity to get your fill of all of the corned beef & cabbage, potato, and Reuben sandwiches before things turn all turkey and pumpkin pie for the fall and winter holidays. Fortunately, Chicago has no shortage of Irish Bars and a few are celebrating the halfway to St. Patrick’s Day countdown marker in a big way that you won’t want to miss.

1. Irish Nobleman Pub

Nothing says Chicago like traditional Irish Pub vibes in a classy yet casual neighborhood setting. This historic location has been home to a bar/restaurant in the heart of the River West neighborhood since 1933. You may already know Irish Nobleman for their friendly staff and highly rated food, but the last few years they’ve blown-up their game by celebrating holidays in a BIG way. Although they always decorated rather extravagantly for each holiday, during the pandemic the owners spread extra cheer by crating spectacular displays of giant inflatable decorations that lined their block and the corner of Erie & Noble street. The addition of the massive outdoor patio has created a fun dining experience during the holidays, where you can dine and drink while surrounded by 10-20′ tall (yes, ten to twenty FOOT tall) larger than life inflatables. The huge blow-up leprechauns and Irish themed inflatables will be back from September 17th-18th, 2021 in celebration of Halfway to St Patrick’s Day. Of course the St. Patrick’s Day staples will be available: Corned Beef & Cabbage, Reuben Rolls, 1/2 price Guinness and 1/2 price Jameson will also be on special for both days.

2. Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro

A visit to Chicago’s North Center neighborhood should include a pint and a bite at Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro which has been a Chicago favorite since 2005. People love the scratch made Irish grub, beer selection, and welcoming neighborhood pub feeling of Mrs. Murphy & Sons Chicago. Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day is a three day celebration here, they are going all out with Irish themed entertainment on the patio (that will move inside in the event of inclement weather.) Entertainment is currently scheduled as follows:

Friday 9/17- Live music from the Kilgubbin Irish Music All-Stars at 6pm Featuring Seán Cleland, Steve Morrow, Jeff Lindblade, Jesse Langen & Niall O’Leary
